The Sinus Connection
If you can't explain your fatigue and your chronic pain, a new study suggests that it may be because of sinus problems. This makes Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (CFS) both difficult to diagnose and treat.
A doctor at Georgetown University Medical Center discovered a connection between sinus symptoms and chronic pain in a study of 297 patients. 22% of those patients suffered from fatigue, 11% suffered from chronic pain, and 9% of those patients suffered from both.
The Underlying Condition
No matter whether a patient suffered from one of those conditions or both, the study suggested each patient suffered from the same underlying problem. A misalignment in their upper neck was the cause of each of their sinus problems, chronic pain, and chronic fatigue.
Accidents to the head or neck can cause the connective tissue, which keeps the spine in place, to break down due to a head or neck injury. That breaking down of the connective tissue then causes the spine to break down and lock into a stressed position. The weight of each vertebrae in the spine then pulls down on each bone, and the bones that are affected the most are the top two bones in the vertebrae. That then then effects how the brainstem functions, thus leading to various health problems throughout the body.
Reversing those Health Problems
Though, those health problems can be reversed by realigning the top two vertebrae in the neck. That is why it is important for patients who suffer from Fibromyalgia to seek the care of an upper cervical chiropractor. They will examine your neck for any misalignments in your upper cervical spine and will make any adjustments necessary those top two vertebrae. This will allow the body to begin to heal itself of chronic fatigue, chronic pain, and sinus problems.
